Engineering Your Tomorrow 2025

Nearly 100 middle school girls from 30 Delaware schools spent a day diving into STEM at "Engineering Your Tomorrow," hosted at Conrad Schools of Science. Guided by female engineers and scientists, the girls tackled three hands-on activities, explored different STEM careers at lunch and wrapped up the day with a drone display by Dynamic Systems. Every activity was designed to spark curiosity and help girls believe that they belong in STEM.

Engineering Challenge:

Teams used the engineering design cycle to build, test and redesign doghouses within specifications to keep their toy puppies cool on a hot Delaware summer day. Designs were put to the test under heat lamps, then girls shared their solutions and voted for “Coolest Canine Castle” and “Best in Show.”

Career Fair

During lunch girls explored different careers while learning about new fields of science and engineering.

Afternoon  Activities

After lunch girls extracted DNA from strawberries, built a homopolar motor and learned about drones and pilot licensing in DE. Parents and guardians participated in career panels and learned about additional STEM activities for their girls.
